Fun Persuasion Activity: Sell This Object

This fun persuasion activity can be used as a game to practice persuasion techniques. Students will “sell” a random object to a random fictional group, using rhetorical appeals, rhetorical devices, and/or claim and counterclaim as they craft their argument and decide on an angle for persuasion. This activity promotes team-building and speaking skills!

Fun Persuasion Activity: Emotion Letter

This fun persuasion activity can be used as a game to practice persuasion techniques. Students will combine three task cards (audience, object, and emotion) to write a letter that uses rhetorical appeals, rhetorical devices, and/or claim and counterclaim. This fun persuasion activity requires critical thinking skills as students craft their argument and decide on an angle for persuasion. This activity also promotes team-building and speaking skills!

Fun Persuasive Writing Activity: Save a Silly Law

Practice using rhetorical appeals with a fun persuasive writing activity: creating a "pitch" to save a "silly" law. Students will use rhetorical appeals, rhetorical devices, and/or claim and counterclaim as they convince their audience that this law should remain in effect.

Fun Persuasive Activity: Complaint Letter

Practice persuasion techniques with a fun persuasive game that asks students to write a fictional complaint letter. Students will use rhetorical appeals, rhetorical devices, and/or claim and counterclaim as they create the story behind a faulty object bought with unexpected results!

    This bundle includes three games:
    1. “Save this Law” – Students develop an argument for saving a silly law and present to the class.
    2. “Complaint Letter” – Students write a fictional complaint letter to share the story behind a faulty object bought with unexpected results.
    3. “Salesperson” – Students will “sell” a random object to a random fictional group.
    4. “Emotion Letter” – Students will use their creativity to write a letter that combines an object, emotion, and audience task card.
