Are you looking for a positive way to build student relationships and encourage mindfulness through self-reflection? “Good Things” is an awesome digital writing routine using Google Slides and is a ready-to-go digital notebook that works great for distance learning or use in your tech-friendly classroom.

With this notebook, your students will collect one unique “Good Thing” each day for 30 days. On each slide, they will identify their “thing,” insert an image (taken or found) to represent the thing, and write a journal entry. There are prompts to get students started, but most students have no trouble writing about the things that make them happy, big or small.

When students have collected their 30 “good things,” it is time for them to reflect. They will look for trends in their choices and think about what these trends reveal. They will select their top five things and give a rationale. Finally, they will choose ONE entry to revise and polish for publication.
